If it's good, I'll read it! Instagram: @crystenasbooks
This book was inspired by the true story of an apartment that was abandoned in Paris for seventy years. For reasons no one knows, the owner left the apartment prior to WWII and never returned, but continued to pay rent on it til her death at the age of 91. It's a real life mystery.
When they went to inventory her apartment it was - you guessed it - a perfectly preserved time capsule. You can google and see pictures of how they found it. Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Or just follow the link below:
To add to the already cool mystery, love letters were discovered in the apartment. They were between Giovanni Boldini, one of Paris’ painters of the Belle Époque and Mrs. de Florian’s (owner of the apartment's) grand-mother, Marthe de Florian.
Paris Time Capsule is one author's fictionalized take of what might have been behind the mystery of this apartment and what it contained.
All this is to explain why I am so psyched to be starting this book as my next read! :)
