If it's good, I'll read it! Instagram: @crystenasbooks
Sooo... I've been scouring the web to find different read-a-thons.
Turns out there's quite a few. Some left me scratching my head with the many challenges.
I signed up for #TBRTakedown 3.0 because it is pretty straightforward and easy. I also Iike that it's designed to give you a jumpstart on your TBR for the year. It runs from January 4-10th. I'm just doing the reading portion, not doing videos or giveaway challenges. It's hosted by leaninglights, a booktuber.
The TBR Reading Challenges are:
1. Read a book from your most recent book haul.
I picked Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche. I got this about a week ago and am dying to start it.
2. Read a book that has been on your TBR Shelf over a year.
Nefretiti by MIchele Moran - I've heard such good things and it keeps staring at me. It was a gift and I've had it a couple of years.
3. Read a book outside your comfort zone.(Genre,content.etc)
Old Man's War by John Scalzi. Not a book I would normally choose, I bought it on a whim. Time to crack that sucker open.
4. Read a first book in a series.
The Ice Princess by Camilla Lackberg. Also been on my shelf for a looong time. I need to read it.
5. Complete a series/Read a sequel in a series
That was easy - I need to finish Cress.
6. Read a FIRE color book (read, pink, purple, lilac, burgundy)
Um Cress has some read, lilac, purply colors in it's cover. Right? Right. And we're moving...
7. Read a non novel item: Poem, verse, novella, short story, comic, etc.
Superman Earth One. My brother leant me this a long time ago cuz I'm a fan of Straczynski.
* You can use one book for multiple challenges.
*you can do as many or as little of the challenges as you want.
*There is no set number of books you need to read
There's quite a few books to read here- so I'm doing no TV to help me reach my goal. I just started laughing at that. We'll see how that goes. #selfdiscipline #mewithouttvforaweekhahahahahahaha #seriouslyi'mgonnatrythis
I'm nervous, but it would be nice to knock all these books off my TBR list.
I'll update daily next week.
