Beautifully written. But I'm just gonna come out and say it. Not a huge fan of this one. It might be because the entire thing revolved around Gregorian chants and that's not my cup of tea. Frankly, I found it boring. It might be because I missed Three Pines so much and all the characters. I think it's more of the latter - I had the same problem with A Rule Against Murder which took place on an island holiday. However, the events between Jean Guy and Gamache, as well as the ending - that ending ya'll - definitely reminded me why I love these mysteries in the first place. Whoa is all I'll say. The next book looks to be a doozy.
Thank goodness I have it on my shelf. Looking forward to it.
