If it's good, I'll read it! Instagram: @crystenasbooks
About halfway through this this 600+ page tome, so I figured I'd check in.
I read a good portion of the first half while waiting for my grandmother to be done with her surgery. This book definitely did the trick, keeping me occupied and distracted for hours when you can't do anything but worry. I'm relieved to say the surgery went well. And as for this book - it's an entertaining fantasy. I liked that it's not medieval based but based on Chinese history and is a fantasy reimagining of the Chu-Han conflict. Different in a refreshing way. This is also silkpunk, a term I was not familiar with before picking this up.
There are soooo many characters but their individual stories are so interesting, it just keeps you turning the pages. I'll elaborate in my final review.
