Nothing better than a good book...

Murder at Hatfield House

Murder at Hatfield House - Amanda Carmack I was excited about this book because it marries two of my favorite genres - cozy mysteries and historical fiction. Did I like it? Yes. I enjoyed reading it. The story was good and held my interest. I wasn't able to invest in the characters the way I would have liked though. I think this book would have benefited from the first person narrative. Just my opinion. For some reason I felt a bit disconnected. I did not like that I was able to accurately guess the murderer the second they appeared on the page. I kept hoping I was wrong, but alas no. So it was more of a when-will-they-get-caught than a whodunit.

All in all - not bad for a first in a series.
